Congratulations to scholarship winner, Patti Jeffries! As the 2022 recipient of the Joanne Cottle Memorial Scholarship, Patti is recognized as a visionary woman with a desire to excel as a Christian leader in her field of ministry.
This scholarship is awarded annually in honor of the contributions and leadership of Joanne Cottle, wife of Christian Life School of Theology Founder, Dr. Ron Cottle. Recipients are selected based on their embodiment of excellence and professionalism— attributes for which Mrs. Cottle was well known.
Patti Jeffries is a wife and mother who first heard God’s call on her life at age 12. A victim of abuse, she was in a very dark place when she attended a Christan contemporary concert and experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus.
"I could hear the voice of the Lord say to me, ‘I want you to have Africa,’ Patti explained. "It wasn't until many years later that I would understand that He was imprinting His heart for the people of Africa onto mine.”
With such a strong calling on her life, Patti knew she needed a solid educational foundation in order to serve the people of Africa well. Financial burdens kept her from completing her Bachelor’s degree in Theology, and this scholarship will allow her to finish her studies before beginning her ministry alongside her family in Uganda.
“I will use the knowledge I receive from your institution to help me with sermons, nonprofit foundation work, and any other challenge I face heading into the mission field,” Patti said. "This empowerment will help grow the Kingdom of God throughout the nations of Africa.”
Christian Life School of Theology would like to thank everyone who applied for this year’s scholarship. All applicants were well-deserving, and making a final selection was a difficult task for our scholarship committee.
Scholarship applications will re-open during the fall of 2022 for the 2022-2023 academic year. Visit our Joanne Cottle Memorial Scholarship webpage to learn more about this special award.
