EPISODE OVERVIEW
Pastor Kent Mattox is convinced that we are heading toward one of the greatest moves of the Holy Spirit ever released on earth. As such, it is our responsibility as believers to prepare ourselves and allow the Lord to form a structure that can sustain the harvest he’s ready to bring.
Christ-followers have the privilege of transforming our culture and releasing the goodness of God, the presence of God and the power of God. Here are a few practical ways Word Alive International Outreach (WAIO) is facilitating transformation in their community and around the world:
Project 58
Based on Isaiah 58, this outreach provides sustainable solutions worldwide by feeding the hungry, providing clean water and enacting social justice. This project also funds international mission trips and supports the local homeless community.
Pray. Fast. Give.
This initiative encourages WAIO churchgoers to fast one meal each week and give the money they would have spent to the poor. Even if a meal only costs $5 or $6, when 100 or 1,000 people are committing to give, it makes a difference.
7 Springs Ministries
This faith-based recovery ministry was founded by a husband and wife who attend WAIO. They formed a partnership with the church, and now there are around 200 men and women in recovery who live on the church campus.
All In Alabama
God gave Pastor Kent and his church the mandate and strategy to visit all 67 Alabama counties to implement the Lord’s vision of transformation for the state. They traveled to every county seat and prayed for the county commissioners and mayors in office. They held services and trained the counties on the concept of ekklesia as it relates to community transformation and marketplace ministry.
Adversity is inevitable as we walk forward in God’s plan, but don’t lose heart. Whatever difficulties you may face are not for your destruction, but for your expansion.
“Take the risk, start moving, and as you do, you’ll find your path in this new season,” Pastor Kent says.

- Building Churches That Last (PT727)– Church growth has been researched, taught, and written about for decades. Church health is a more recent emphasis, exploring the common elements of church that grow both qualitatively and quantitatively. The keys to both church growth and church health can be found in the book of Acts, and this course seeks to observe the dynamics and principles of the “first church” that can be used to establish a local church that will be more than a fad, lasting until Jesus comes.
- The History of the Early Church (HT510)– This course spans the origins of the early Church to the Council of Chalcedon in A.D. 451. Along with a general overview, special attention is paid to the notable people, movements and traditions that have created a rich heritage for the modern day Church. The course frees believers from the limited view of the present and helps us better understand the Lord Jesus Christ.
