For pastors, ministry leaders, Christian educators, coaches, and those who spend their days serving others, counseling often happens long before anyone walks into a therapist’s office. It happens after church, across a desk, over coffee, during a phone call, or in the middle of an unexpected crisis.
You may already know how to listen well and point someone toward Scriptural truth. But when situations become complicated, you may feel out of your depth to help someone move forward.
That’s where deeper preparation can make a difference.
Introducing the MACC Degree
We believe Christians hold a responsibility to reach the needs of the broken and to meet them where they are. Christian life is about freedom … and Christian leaders shouldn’t have to choose between a biblical worldview and practical counseling skills. The Master of Applied Christian Counseling (M.A.C.C.) from Christian Life School of Theology Global is designed to marry the two together.
Throughout the 60-credit program, students forge practical skills for helping individuals, couples, and families to achieve freedom through a distinctly Christian lens.
Students explore areas such as
- Marriage and family counseling
- Conflict resolution
- Communication
- Treatment planning
- Supervised pastoral practice
- And more!
The MACC doesn’t leave you with theory alone. It fits you with a practical counseling framework that you can apply outside of the classroom.
Transformation at Its Core
The MACC is built upon a foundation of Choice Theory and Reality Therapy (CT/RT), developed by psychiatrist Dr. William Glasser. These counseling theories provide practical tools for helping people to critically evaluate choices, strengthen inter-personal relationships, take greater personal responsibility, and choose healthier patterns.
Students in the MACC program learn the WDEP framework—Wants, Doing, Evaluation, and Planning—giving them a structure to help clients 1) identify what they want, 2) examine what they’re currently doing, 3) evaluate whether those choices are working, and 4) develop a plan for moving forward.
For Christian leaders who regularly hear the question, “What do I do now?”, these skills provide a means of transformation. Not only for your work, but for the healing and of the lives you touch.
Certification at Each Step
As students progress through each of the 6 modules, they receive instruction from Certified Glasser Faculty and can receive corresponding certificates at each milestone. Eligible training may also qualify for continuing education credit through the William Glasser Institute.
It’s more than head knowledge. It’s a graduate degree rich with biblical truth and applicable, professional counseling skills.
When you pursue the MACC degree, you’re not just checking an educational box. You are laying the groundwork for your professional career … and experiencing real change along the way.
